This portable laptop is great. I use it as a third monitor when I dock my work laptop, and if I need to move to another room (so as not to disturb my husband's meetings during the day when he works and sleeps at night, I) can use it as a second monitor for my laptop. No installation required, which is ideal for my work laptop since I don't have admin rights. My old laptop also works well and I only need to use the power supply since it doesn't have TypeC.
I highly recommend this product. It's easy to use around the house due to its versatility and when I finally travel again I think it will be perfect for that too. Especially when traveling on business or needing to log in and work remotely while traveling for other reasons.
I have provided images from using it as a third monitor for my laptop and a second monitor. I used richer colors than I normally use, so you can see the difference in image/color/brightness/etc.
I love it!!! After reading some of the other reviews, I expected to need to download a driver or two and go through some setup time, but it works right out of the box! It even took over as my speaker. I immediately switched it back to MacBook Pro speakers. Other than the quality of the speakers, I think this will be perfect for what I need! I do a lot of work on spreadsheets and now I don't have to worry about getting work done efficiently without another monitor when I travel. I may add this review again after the trip is over, but for now I don't anticipate any problems. Hopefully it will work with the Euro adapter. Fingers crossed!
I'm often in the market for a "second screen" / portable monitor because I travel a lot for work. I came across a listing for an Intehill 15.6" monitor in Shopify and started doing research. I spent a lot of time learning all about monitors and the consumer experience. I was happy to read a lot of positive things, so I decided to make the purchase.
I've been using the monitor for about two months now and I'm very happy with it. I have taken it with me on business trips and have been able to easily connect the monitor to my laptop and view spreadsheets, etc. The magnetic cover on the monitor is very nice - the monitor is very easy to use. The magnetic cover on the monitor is great - it makes it easy to support the screen in different ways. It is very versatile and very valuable.
I've tried using my iPad as a second monitor for my MacBook Pro, but it's too small to really use with good results. I've been looking for a large, lightweight second monitor that can be powered directly from the laptop without the need for an additional power supply.
Enter this Intehill monitor. It is very lightweight and works perfectly out of the box. I plugged my Macbook into a power source and then connected the monitor to the included USB-C to USB-C cable. It automatically turns on and all windows pop up to the second monitor, just like connecting a laptop to an external monitor on your desk. No additional power supply is required. I think they say to keep the brightness below 80% if you don't plan to connect power directly to the monitor (also included). By default it turns on to 30% and when I turn it up to 50% it's almost too bright and I'm fine with 40%. So I really don't see the need for external power unless your laptop (or other device) can't provide the power needed, or you are going to be working in a very bright place and may need to turn on the monitor.
Of course, using this feature is not the same as having a second 24" monitor, but that's not the point. On the go, this feature works great and doesn't make my laptop significantly heavier due to its light weight.
I can't speak to the longevity of the screen, but my initial thoughts are very positive and the manufacturer will provide a 1 year warranty if you register the screen.
The setup is very easy. It comes with a screen protector, USB-C cable, mini HDMI and USB-A power supply. Installing the screen protector was a bit awkward, but I was surprised that it even included a screen protector. Connecting to my laptop was simple. The only cable needed was the USB-C connector, and once connected, the unit immediately powered on and automatically detected the display. The laptop is a Dell XPS-13 running Linux Mint.
The picture is not bad. It's not 4K, but it's still satisfactory for portable use.
As for the downside, there are some minor drawbacks. The sound is not so good, but it does automatically detect the audio. The brightness is good. The included cover can double as a stand. It works, but I wasn't happy with the available angle, so I used a separate tablet stand and it works well.
All said I am very happy with this purchase. The extra screen space is very useful and makes up for my glitches.
